giant snails are invading coral gables in florida
public health officials have issued warnings to the public
ironically, the city used snail mail
- guess there's no hurry...
these snails are said to be making a run at the city
- don't laugh
the health department stated that these giant africanized snails
present a major public health hazard
mainly from the parasites that they carry
this particular parasite apparently does not like fast food
also, the snails have destroyed many gardens in the area
also, in barbados five years ago these mollusks thrived on
the tropical island, destroyed crops and prompted calls
for the government to eliminate the slimy pests
- in barbados, as in america,
the people can't defend themselves from these monsters
during 'nocturnal snail hunts' in both countries
the hunters reported the snails giving each other
piggy-back rides so they could advance more quickly
city officials in coral gables predict that at their current rate
by late in 2019
