the coast is clear, so is the park and that parking lot, too
where have all the people gone...
did they suddenly all get a shower and a job...
jump the subway, get a foot long and go to work...
can't be, but where ever they've gone,
they're not occupying anymore
maybe the hugely successful occupy palm desert
movement is where they all can be found
i know that's where i be occupying as well as partying
or maybe occupy's work is done
and we are now watching the victory unfold
the movement inserted economic inequality into
the national conversation, and it's no coincidence that
president obama shortly afterward began pursuing a more
populist agenda, ya know getting in with the common folk
obama's handlers have steered him away from mentioning
the movement by name, or referring to wall street at all
but occupy's message is now a part of his political oratory
the president has drank the cool-aid and it's cherry flavor
occupy's message might play a role in the election
and beyond, people like being a part of a large group
- was that their plan all along, act stupid, burn stuff
poop in the park and know that it would get the
president's attention, support and his compassion
the president is looking for something to campaign on
he has a billion dollar war chest and a bad economy
so move to the center, rally with the 99%ers
and give out more free stuff (on credit)
that might just give him the street cred he needs to win
but at this point, the guy pooping in the park
could beat anything the republicans can come up with
