and these kids don't even drink sodas anymore
but branding is still thought to be important to big business
heck, just by having that big coke picture in my post
i'll get at least another 1000 hits today... that's big
interestingly, only four of the 10 brands were on
the list 10 years ago when Ford was No. 1
Sony was No. 3, Coca-Cola was No. 7 and
Pepsi Cola was No. 10
dropping off the list were H/P and GE
Sony, which had been in the top position for 7 straight years
has now dropped one spot to number 2
Dell, which had been in the second spot last year
drops two spots to number 4 this year
Coca-Cola was ranked number one for the first time
in the polls 12 year history
“Top of mind association with being “best” is a good position for any brand,”
said Robert Fronk, Senior Vice President, Brand and Strategy Consulting, Harris Interactive.
“For a truly successful brand relationship though, the objective is not just awareness,
but to foster the ongoing process and outcome of brand engagement,
which requires more custom and sophisticated measures based upon the interaction
of the brand and its desired audience.” - what the hell did he say???
3 industries are represented on this year’s list
4 of the companies are from the electronics industry
while 3 are each from auto manufacturing and
consumer and package goods
what can we draw from this study...
not much, it was conducted in 2007
and as we know, a lot of sh*t has happened
since then
