well, they've just passed a groundbreaking new law
one that seeks to stop the flow of spam or as they call it
shisspammie
ya know, spam, all that nasty junk e-mail you always get
they want to stop it from entering into japanese computers
from abroad - especially those sneaky chinese broads
they propose that violators will face fines of up to $285,000
also - much worse in japan - they will face losing face
that is assuming they can be identified, tracked down
and actually made to pay the stiff fine
one tactic will be to set-up, what they've dubbed
'spam-traps'
they put out little pieces of the canned mystery meat
next to some noodles and see what they can catch
- those sneaky chinese broads
japan already has an existing law governing junk e-mail
it's known by it's full name as
the law on the regulation of transmission of specified
electronic mail - or rotosem
when rotosem was passed into law, the public just laughed
they thought it was some kind of revolving sewing machine
this latest bill just modifies that old, less funny law
presumably because it did squat to stem the stream of spam
the revisions in the new law now prohibit the sending of spam
to japanese e-mail addresses unless the addressees
had previously agreed to receive them - whak!
when the ministry of information tried to tell the japanese
public of the new shisspammie law
they just laughed, they did take the bait however
sales of the real spam have risen 44 percent
seems they now like it with noodles
