in a country where you can buy a 16 year old girl for the night
phil robertson, deputy director of asian human rights watch
is outraged when he saw this new ad campaign for dunkin' donuts
so he did what he was suppose to do, he tweeted
i woulda twerked
he's all upset because the ads imply that the chocolate is so good
that you'll turn black, so what's wrong with that...
i've been looking for that kinda chocolate all my life
but in a separate statement, robertson went on.. and on
he called the market strategy 'bizarre and racist'
and insisted that dunkin’ donuts strike the commercials
and print ads and issue a public apology about racism
but the thing is... in thailand they don't really care
nadim salhani is the CEO of dunkin’ donuts thailand
- he laughed at the uproar, 'we're just trying to sell donuts here
this has nothing to do with race
why does everything have to do with race and racism
this is not america where every 5 seconds someone is
offended and someone is trying to bait the races
- that robertson guy is all about race, that's his job
to sit around and complain about race and to look for people
and companies that are racist... what a stupid job
he should sell donuts, much better job'
he went on, (and on) 'not everybody in the world is paranoid
about racism, i’m sorry, but this is a clever marketing campaign
and that's my daughter in the ads - it’s working very well for us
our numbers are way up and it's all good, so i see no racist
problems with our advertising but, if you'd like to address
the problem we have with sexism and child exploitation
then that's another story altogether'
then speaking to robertson again
'if you talk about my 16 year old little girl again
i'll kick your ass'
