IS IT A BOY OR A GIRL. NO TELLING.

some say that gender roles are sexist

that they are oppressive and closed-minded

they are unjust rules set by others to dictate how individuals

should feel, express themselves and view others

some talk about 'being assigned' a gender at birth

- without their consent or input

don't confuse gender-fluid with trans-fluid, one's for your car

to me, gender-fluid evokes thoughts of juice

the kind juice they found on monica lewinsky's blue dress

but what it is, is a whole new way of looking at the world

you're gonna have to get used to this - you hater

and you have to unlearn all you know about gender

because there is a big shift coming and it's everywhere

groups all over the country and especially on college campuses

are making new gender rules for a new genderless world

they want others to use certain words when referring to them

she, he or something else, and remember, it's fluid

they can change their gender on the fly, minute to minute

-that's convenient when there's a long line at the ladies room

never mind the physical equipment they currently use

increasingly, the "shes" and "hers" that dominate

introductions are keeping third-person company with "they"

or ''ze" and other neutral alternatives meant to convey a more

generous notion of gender

self-identify as "genderqueer" - neither male nor female but

an androgynous hybrid or rejection of both

is challenging anew the limits of western comprehension

and the english language as a whole

people who describe themselves in terms such as agender

bigender, third gender or gender-fluid are going to get

just what they are looking for

a big-ender

worst of all... where will all the babies come from now...
