conservative talk show host and sometimes bagpipe
rush limbaugh wasted no time responding to the news that
stephen colbert would replace david letterman on 'the late show'
he's not happy about that choice - and that's putting it mildly
he thinks CBS has 'declared war on the heartland of america'
ya see, the colbert report regularly spoofs the conservative movement
a movement that rush limbaugh regularly spearheads
rush spends all afternoon bitching about progressives
colbert spends his time on comedy central slamming traditional values
- though it's thinly veiled... but is a hoot to watch
rush believes that CBS will now launch a full-scale attack on
traditional american values
- never mind their programing has always celebrated change
- just ask archie bunker
rush believes that now with the colbert bump
CBS can go all out and promote all the preversion they want
because after all, this is all about perversion guised as change
'no longer is comedy going to be a covert assault on
traditional american values … now it's just wide out in the open...
what this hire means is a redefinition of what is funny
and a redefinition of what is comedy … it's a declaration'
- warned limbaugh, then even more air came out and sounded like
'they're blowing up the 11:30 format under the guise that the
world's changing, and people don't want the kind of comedy
that johnny carson gave us, or even letterman'
well, well, ol' rush might have a point
with fallon doing what is essentially is saturday night live
and kimmel having parents traumatize their children by
telling them they ate all their halloween candy
the late night landscape has become a little less traditional
and a little more scary for the older crowd
