the french love their foie gras
but then again, the french eat all kinds of weird stuff
the fatty liver product
foie gras, 'liver fat' in french
is a must at special dinners and wine pairings
but until recently
the progressives in our nanny government made it illegal
then some judge, probably some fat one with a fat liver
made the stuff legal again
so right away - the fancy restaurants started serving it again
and again, people who like that kinda stuff, could indulge
but producers and presenters of foie gras are coming
under attack
more and more places are being picketed for the practice
however, the attack changed sides last saturday in palm springs
fed-up like a stuffed goose
a representative of an upscale restaurant came outside
and started beating the chanting protesters with their own signs
things got bloody but there were no charges or arrests
the production of foie gras involves force feeding ducks and geese
that's jamming a feeding tube down their little duck necks
and cramming in lots of extra food
this enlarges their
livers and that bloated, fatter liver is sweeeet
animal rights
campaigners are demanding an end to the practice
nearly 20 countries around
the world have banned it
- probably countries with no ducks or no access to feeding tubes
but people who like it, like it and pay through the nose to get it
many news agencies are trying to duck this issue
but it's a very important problem - animals are people too
they have feelings and babies and no medical insurance
the protesters say they are just lending their voice to help
because the geese can't speak with feeding tubes in their throats
victims did not want to
identify themselves or press charges
later that evening however, many of the protesters were seen
at the local taco bell scarfing down chicken tacos
so obviously the question needs to be asked
do chickens scream when you put on the hot sauce?
