today and every october 18th is national no beard day
today's the day those of us who have beards
get to shave it right off for a nice smooth clean shave
it is a day when you let you family and friends see
what you really look like underneath all that face hair
as you can see, for many of us, this is a big mistake
there are many great americans whose beards made
them the man (and in some cases the woman)
that they were
facial hair is a powerful thing
abe lincoln, us grant, even gen robert e lee
all needed their hair, plato, moses, jesus! & hulk hogan
just imagine...

the average man will shave about 20,000 times
between the ages of 15 and 75
that equates to a full five months of just shaving
90% or about 95 million american men over
the age of 15 shave... with 75 percent shaving daily
the average 15-20 year old shaves 275 times per year
while shaving frequency rises to almost daily
for men aged 20 to 65
- everyday for 40 years, that is nuts...
i guess that after 65, you just don't give a crap anymore
in the meantime, screw this holiday, i'm keepin' my beard
i will however celebrate, have a few shots, several beers
and then maybe go next store and shave my neighbor's cat
