GUY FAWKES DAY. DON'T BANK ON IT.

saturday was bank transfer day in the usa

it was organized by an organization that encourages

people to close their checking and savings accounts with

major banks and invest in local banks and credit unions

the flight from the major commercial banks to nonprofit

credit unions started earlier, though, and can be traced to

BofA's announcement that it would charge $5 each month

to those that used their debit cards on purchases

we said the only way that would happen is if the ice maker

in hell still worked, it doesn't, so

the BofA has since rescinded its fee,

we played chicken with them and unlike in libya,

here, the colonel won

we called for this action back in our october 10th blog

all this madness was suppose to have started yesterday

- guy fawkes day, just to add insult to the injury...

so, it's to early to tell what's happening

but here's how things have played out so far:

650,000 new accounts have been opened

in credit unions all over the country already!

well... looks like the banks are taking it on the cheek

and i'm talkin' about the cheek they sit on

i have nothing against the big banks, heck, they own my

cars and my homes and i owe their credit card divisions

tons of money and they always only charge me what's fair

and i've worked my whole life for them and they

really and truly don't care for me

i haven't gotten a free gift from them since the toaster

i got when i opened my first savings account when i was 5

so, i'm really happy about what's happening and

i could say fuck 'em

but i don't cuss in this blog (it's unprofessional)

or, be one of the one percent
