most of these people are homeless
they live on the streets
they've been camping outside in parks for months
but it's getting cold, so they're taking it indoors
moving into neighborhoods across the country
finding it increasingly difficult to camp in public spaces
protesters across the country are reclaiming foreclosed
homes and old boarded-up, abandoned properties
this is a tactical shift for the movement against inequality
they carry signs that read "foreclose on banks, not people."
"It's pretty clear that the fight is against the banks, and the Occupy movement is about occupying spaces.
So occupying a space that should belong to homeowners but belongs to the banks seems like the logical next stepfor the Occupy movement," said Jeff Ordower, one of the organizers of Occupy Homes.
this must have been the plan from the very beginning
a way for the homeless to find a home
while arrests have already been made in a couple of
squatting cases it remains to be seen how authorities
will react the movements latest tactics
but since the occupiers are now on the move...
some departments are already in training
