WHO'S YOUR DADDY

like we discussed yesterday

there's a lot of men donating to cryobanks (read sperm)

so with all that sperm flying around out there

what's the problem...

it's that today, and in the future, kids don't know their

biological parents, and some suggest, this is a bad thing

the use of donor sperm for human conception can be traced

back to the 18th century, but it wasn't until the early 20th

that efforts to freeze, store and thaw sperm began

in 1949, scientists discovered a technique for freezing

semen with glycerol, that proved less likely to injure sperm

but it was work in cryobiology, the study of organisms

and cells at sub-zero temperatures, that took earlier

scientific efforts to new levels and made the banks thrive

in 1953, the world's first sperm bank was opened

initially under the name the very first national bank of

a bad ass tadpole that's gotta be corralled in a vault

the name was too long and kinda bad ass

- that's how things were in the early fifties

they soon changed it to the cryobank

so nobody knew what it was or what they where doing

and it was from that pioneering bank that the first human

birth from cryopreserved sperm was recorded

however, it took two more decades for the idea of

sperm banks and free ejaculate for all to become

culturally acceptable along with baseball caps being

worn sideways, low rider jeans and top 40 voodoo music

it took until the time of rock 'n' roll and drugs and free sex

for society to be ready to except homosexuality and the

liberated (who needs men) women and rhoda

for the sperm bank to be accepted by the culture

our culture seems to follow a well known downward curve

the culture loses culture when the people lose their sense

of purpose, soundness and lineage - that's right, family

and it's known, the less family, the more voodoo
