previous studies have shown that women speak an average
of 20,000 words a day, whereas men only speak 7,000
now, scientists may know why
women just love to hear the sound of their voice
no wait, no
women may have higher levels of a protein in their brain
a special protein, not meat or fish or peanut butter
no, a protein dubbed foxp2
what it's got to with lisa simpson, i'm not sure
but it has been linked to human verbal communication
and women have seemed to weaponize this protein
in a recent study - yes, another one of those studies
this one was published in the a journal, so, wow
this study studied and looked at young male and female rats
the male rats are known to be more vocal than the female
who woulda thought that male mice were so talkative
the study said this because, they didn't want to appear sexiest
these researchers counted the number of baby cries
that newborn rats made towards their mothers
the researchers noted that the mothers tended to look after
their sons first and would leave the daughters to fend for themselves
which in china is always known to be true
mom rats love their little boy rats
but who the freak cares about rats anyway
so the study then looked at the way female children interact
and quoting a highly regarded source from the study team
'it's found that these little girls never shout the fu%k up -
- based on our observations, we postulate higher levels
of a special protein called foxp2 in girls
much higher levels than in boys'
at first glance, one might conclude that the findings in rats
don't generalize to humans
but as experiments were done on women of all ages
- the findings were conclusive
- women just simply like to talk
and talk and talk and talk
however, that fact seems to be widely accepted
the problem, if there is one, is that
men don't like to listen, and that seems to be because
they have their own special protein, it's called
foxsports
thus, there in lies the rub
