SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

i am relieved that we are not going to default on our debt

but i'm not relieved that we will be doing this whole thing again

- in a couple of months

who elected these guys...

the senate hasn't passed a budget in 5 years

they let the government close down, and caused lots o' pain

yet, they still got paid, paid for doing squat

as far as the debt ceiling goes...

what they have done, yet again

is kick the responsibility down the road

it's kinda like starting a diet at a casino buffet

- deal with the problem later...

the debt ceiling is a fun thing

congress has devised a great new way to pay the bills

they've said

'hell yes, we can borrow more money

as much as we want, hell we print the stuff

we don't care that some other guys have said

that there's a limit on how much debt we can have

and that at some point, enough IS enough

we have to pay the interest on the interest we haven't paid

start the presses!'

but, coming together and approving this mess won't last long

the congress will be addressing these same issues again soon

these problems will spring up again early next year

but don't expect them to get an early start on the job

remember, there's their holiday break which starts soon

and ends... early next year

then we will be back at the same intersection of stubborn and stupid

the can they kicked down the road doesn't amount to a can of beans

and they didn't kick it far enough

they should have taken it outside and shoot it full of holes

what really should have happened is that they

should have just canned themselves

enjoy the holidays
