the political correctness bandwagon
continues to steamroll across america
- well, not necessarily with the mayor of los angeles
but that was just one weird exception
oh, and maybe with the mayor of toronto too
up until now, most of the whining about the NFL team in DC
has been just that: whining - just words
so called people of color as well as people calling themselves 'trans-colored'
have been calling for the scalp of the redskins ownership
so now with this matter, (and soon with all similar matters)
the government has found a way to make things right (left)
first the IRS gave it a shot, but that was way too obvious
so now the US patent and trademark office
has taken significant action against the team and its nickname
it has canceled the teams federally protected trademarks
the washington redskins can no longer protect their name
because some native american groups protested the name
the trademark office did the right thing and took swift action
they are forcing their pc ways on the team by stopping the
team from being able to make money on their own name
the ruling said that the name 'may disparage some people'
- don't worry that the ruling my disparage some people
some now feel it'd be better to drop the name washington
the team's lawyers as well as it's owner issued a statement saying:
'this action by the federal government is just plain bull
and we will not take this action just sitting down'
to which the government immediately issued the team a stiff fine
- for using the terms sitting and bull in the same sentence
